Preservation of Art
My photo essay is generally based upon the idea of the preservation of art. I believe art is everywhere and everything. I attempted to capture art in a series of different places. There is street art incorporated, body art, general object art, and the art of furniture. All pictures have to do with preservation, life vs. death, and decay, all in relation to each other. The opening two images were of the same painting, stating the topic of my essay, "Preservation." As the images move along, they take you through the city to show several different works of art, slowly approaching the skull upon the wall. The skull, symbolizing death, bring the viewer to the tattoo, in contrast, "Live & Learn." It transitions to the perfume bottle, which contrasts another time with the tattoo. The last image closes the photo essay with a closed drawer, symbolizing the end. The images are all in black and white, adding a more vintage and "used" effect, to go along with the images. The pictures overall correspond to each other, all unifying to conclude the preservation of art and life.
